  1. What is GOALS? GOALS is a non-profit organization that uses soccer in Haiti to engage youth in community service and education to improve quality of life today and develop new leaders for tomorrow. Our soccer, community service, and education model improves health and well-being of players, families and communities. GOALS is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States, ID 27-3869911. Activities include competitive soccer teams, after-school programs, summer camp, community outreach, and high school scholarships. 
  2. Where is GOALS? Our US-based headquarters are located at 1201 Tree Bay Lane / Sarasota, FL 34242. Our work in Haiti is centralized in Leogane, approximately 20 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince. Leogane was the epicenter of the 2010 earthquake, and it is estimated that 80-90% of its infrastructure was destroyed in the disaster. 
  3. Who is Team GOALS? Team GOALS has 19 in-country staff members, 18 of whom are local Haitian leaders. Our Board of Directors currently has 8 members in Haiti and the United States. Volunteers hail from Haiti, the U.S., the Dominican Republic and more. Read more about Team GOALS here.
  4. What is GOALS’ Impact? Our competitive teams, after-school activities, summer camp, community outreach, and high-school scholarships directly impact an average of 636 children per month. Our full-time sites are located in Leogane, with outreach sites in La Colline, St. George, Magandu, and Cite Soleil. Most of our work impacts family members as well – as the average player lives with seven other people, GOALS considers a conservative estimates that programs indirectly affect an additional 4,452 people per month.
  5. Why Soccer? Using sport is an effective and creative way to engage youth in meaningful development. Sport has long been considered “a vehicle for social change,” and the United Nations calls it “an important tool” for development. Sport has been used worldwide and is often used to promote peace, health, and equality. GOALS is one of the only organizations in Haiti providing free, permanent sport-for-development programs on a daily basis. To learn more, visit our Resources page.

    I am traveling with a large group of students/parents from Michigan as part of a Royal Caribbean cruise with a scheduled stop in Labadee Haiti in early April 2016. Is it possible to make a donation locally (Labadee) of soccer items collected and brought from Michigan?
