Generational Change

15 Years of GOALS Haiti: Empowering Generations and Breaking Cycles

This year, GOALS Haiti proudly celebrates 15 years of empowering youth, transforming communities, and creating generational change. What began in 2010 as a spark to use soccer to engage youth has grown into a comprehensive program that tackles education, health, leadership, climate action and community development.

One of the most powerful indicators of GOALS' impact is the drastic reduction in teen pregnancy rates. Before GOALS, the teen pregnancy rate in our communities was 7%. Today, it stands at 0%. This incredible achievement is the result of years of dedicated work, providing young people with access to education, leadership opportunities, health education, and safe spaces to grow and thrive.

Through initiatives like Purposeful Play, literacy and tutoring programs, health education workshops, and leadership training, GOALS has equipped thousands of youth with the skills and knowledge to make informed choices about their futures. By addressing root causes and empowering young leaders, GOALS is not just transforming individual lives—it's breaking cycles that have affected communities for generations.

Coach Nadege who has been with us since our start in 2010 had this to say – “The impact GOALS has had in the community is that children are more respected and their education is a priority. There have been major changes in the community such as no more teen pregnancy, there is more communication and kids have more self confidence which helps the community to advance.”

As we celebrate our 15th year major milestone, we are committed and know that real change takes time, dedication, and community-driven solutions. The success we see today is not just about numbers—it’s about the young leaders who are shaping brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Thank you to everyone who has supported GOALS Haiti over the past 15 years. Together, we are proving that investing in youth creates lasting, generational change which is definitely something to celebrate.
